Aids for Teachers is a product of Walt Design & Development. We've created this site to help teachers create aids for their classroom based upon our own experiences and speaking with others.
My middle son had problems in elementary school with wanting to learn his spelling words. Quite frankly, I couldn't blame him. The process of reading, writing, and trying to memorize words was and still is boring!
So I came up with simple word searches for him. He already liked word searches, and felt like a grown up since he saw his mother doing them. The only difference was that now he was looking for his spelling words. And the process of him looking for them, made it so he was learning them. We've taken that very generic tool, and built it into our Word Search Generator so that its an easy and accessible tool for anyone to use.
We built the Word Jumbler with the same basic ideas in mind. Students can learn spelling and vocab words, by just adding the definitions, with a fun game instead of tedious memorization.
But most importantly, all of our tools, are totally free for teachers to use. No need to sign up, no need to pay. We know how much work teachers do, for so little pay, so this is our way of giving back to every teacher every where.
We're not only using our talents in software development, but also our experience as parents, and teachers to grow this site into a set of useful Aids for Teachers, Parents, and Home-schoolers to use. Helping to make learning fun and accessible, without a cost of time or money to the teacher is our whole purpose.
We'll be adding to the Aids which we've already built, so that you can find something for your students, no matter their grade level.

Yesterday I released the Count Down Timer to help you define time limts. This can be for anything from a timed writing exercise, to the length of time at stations, or for how much time is left for a break.
We are continuing to work on new features and processes, so keep coming back to see what else is available.
